Lane admits he is absolutely crazy about Colorado! From the early age of 13, when he was a volunteer youth reporter for the City of Aurora's cable station, Lane dreamed of one day reporting the news in Denver.Lane graduated from Rangeview High School and Colorado State University.Before joining 7NEWS in March 2004, Lane became a familiar face in other parts of the country. Lane reported the news in Austin, Minnesota, Boise, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah. Lane has been on the front lines of major events like the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and the abduction and safe return of Elizabeth Smart. Lane says his passion is people and telling their stories.
Lane's work has been honored by the Idaho Press Club, Society of Professional Journalists, and Utah State Broadcasters.Lane says he's excited to be a part of Denver's 7."There's a long history of journalistic integrity here. I remember admiring news veterans like Starr Yelland and Jim Redmond. I'm glad to be here," he said.When not working, Lane enjoys hiking and biking in the warmer months and skiing and boarding when the flakes fly. Lane has family in the Denver area, and is the proud parent of two towering chihuahuas.
